Defense Barrier | HESCO Type Galvanized Flood and Erosion Barrier is a modular barrier system composed of a galfan-coated welded steel wire mesh and a non-woven geotextile liner, designed to be filled on-site with sand, soil, or gravel. It ships flat-packed from the factory; deployed in minutes, joined to any required length, and stacked vertically for additional height. Engineered for military defense, flood and torrent control, coastal erosion, blast walls, construction site security, and critical infrastructure perimeter protection.
How It Works — Structure & Installation
The barrier consists of three core components: a galfan-coated welded steel mesh frame, a non-woven geotextile liner, and spiral hinged corners connecting each cell. Thanks to the spiral hinges, all units leave the factory flat-packed — a single container can hold hundreds of meters of barrier, dramatically reducing shipping cost compared to traditional sandbags.
On-site installation takes only 5 steps: (1) unpack, (2) pull out and set up, (3) connect units together, (4) fill with sand, soil, or gravel using a loader or excavator, and (5) add additional layers as required. A single operator with construction equipment can deploy tens of meters of defense wall within minutes.
Galfan (Zn–5% Al) coating delivers 2–3× longer corrosion life than standard galvanizing — providing 50+ years of expected service life in harsh environments such as coastal zones, water infrastructure, or military deployments.
